In 1973, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada formally accepted Kalakantha das as his disciple. Since then, Kalakantha das has faithfully served Srila Prabhupada through his writing, extensive lecturing, and the management of various Krishna conscious projects.

In 2006, he established the highly successful Krishna House ashram and school in Gainesville, Florida—creating a vibrant model for local youth outreach that is now being replicated in several other cities.

Among his many books and publications, A God Who Dances—a poetic rendition of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam’s Tenth Canto—has been widely appreciated as a unique and deeply relishable presentation of Lord Krishna’s pastimes. More recently, he has translated Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Gītār Gān and Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura’s Śaraṇāgati into English poetry for the first time, making these timeless classics accessible and enjoyable for contemporary readers.

His latest project - Krishna Meditations is a groundbreaking, modern English translation of the Songs of the Vaiṣṇava Ācāryas, the cherished collection of beloved Vaiṣṇava bhajans. Alongside his literary and preaching work, Kalakantha das and his family are actively applying Śrīla Prabhupāda’s teachings on varṇāśrama culture by developing a sustainable farm community in Florida.
