1) jīv jāgo, jīv jāgo, gauracānda bole kota nidrā jāo māyā-piśācīra kole
2) bhajibo boliyā ese saṁsāra-bhitare bhuliyā rohile tumi avidyāra bhare
3) tomāre loite āmi hoinu avatāra āmi binā bandhu āra ke āche tomāra
4) enechi auṣadhi māyā nāśibāro lāgi’ hari-nāma mahā-mantra lao tumi māgi’
5) bhakativinoda prabhu-caraṇe pariyā sei hari-nāma-mantra loilo māgiyā
English rendition
1) “Jīvas wake up, jīvas wake up,” calls out Lord Gaurāṅga. “You sleep in the lap of māyā. Why sleep any longer?
2) “ At birth you had promised Krishna to relish His bhajan. You live in a world of darkness, your promise forgotten.
3) “To save you I have descended in this incarnation. What other friend do you have to provide your salvation?
4)”I brought you this medication, the perfect solution. Please take Krishna’s holy name and destroy your illusion.”
5) Falling at Gaurāṅga’s feet, this Bhakativinoda, begging for the mahā-mantra, received that ambrosia.
